I'm BrendaLou, 65 years old and raising a new flock in rural Jordan, Minnesota. My husband said I could raise 6 chickens and so of course my flock consists of 13 hens and one rooster! He managed a commercial chicken ranch with 100,000 birds in college. We had a lovely flock for about 25 years in the 70's through the 90's. We moved from Nothern CA redwoods to 3.5 acres in rural Minnesota.

I have 2 Buff Orphingtons, one bantem, 3 silver laced Wyandottes, 3 leghorns, 3 "asian" breeds (they'll have to get just a tad older for me to identify) and two barred rocks.
