Hello everyone!
I've never done this before and I thought I should because I've been on here for two whole years and haven't properly introduced myself!
My name is Lily and I currently have 35 or 34 chickens. I am also homeschooled and a Christian. I grew up with chickens for eight or something years. I always get it mixed up, it feels like I've had them forever! I started off with 10 or something RSL's and they were the loves of my life! The names I remember are Lucy, Sarah, Adweena, Abigail and Alice. The favourite of the group was definitely Alice. She was always the escape artist of the group and my parents were always joking of how they would make her into supper.
The RSL's were originally going to be made into meat but as soon as we got them my parents changed their minds. We soon decided to get a dozen baby BSL chicks. Oh how we loved all these little peepers! Soon they grew up and we decided to get a new cat. We named her Sammi. Soon after Sammi was allowed to go outside and we found one of our sweet hens, Lily dead. It could have been a hawk but Sammi was a likely culprit.
Hens came and went and soon roosters joined our flock. Penny, Lighting, Romeo, Storm, Midnight and Autumn. Now we have a beautiful flock of Silkies, EEs, BSLs, SSH, White Sussex's, Brahmas, and more!!!!! I also have cats, budgies, and one fish!
I'm so thankful that God guided me here on BYC. I have met so many wonderful people, heard some amazing stories, and just chatting around with my friends! A huge thank you to @Nifty-Chicken and all the staff for making BYC happen. BYC has changed my life (and my chickens!!) so much. There is countless more I can say but I decided that I'll make it short.
