Thanks. I'm in the process of turning my old shed into Fort Knox. We have a plethora of raccoons and opossums in the woods behind the house. Predator prevention is number one on my list at the moment. Thanks for the advice.Hi Daniel and welcome to BYC! OK now you have them there are a few things you ensure you have success with the rest, number 1 ensure they can escape the heatlamp to cool off if needed, #2 butt checks poop can build up around the vents and cause blockages, #3 silkies aren't the best at predator avoidance since you are in Louisiana you have to provide for their safety.
There is more to know than just this those are just the big 3 for me and mistakes I made initially. Well except #3 I don't keep silkies as I do not want to feed my raptor population.
