(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first chicken 4 years ago, ended up having to give away bc needed a new coop and it was about to be winter. my good friend had a BIG coop they would free range. Got three last year and a new coop, found one dead, a hawk got the other, and one got sick. I got 1 of the orginal hens I had from my friend and she is a gold laced wynodette (sp). I have added 2 Giant Cochins, the three will be free range (older hen is already) I am just waiting on cochins to catch up to her size. They are about 15 weeks now. I have 1 polish buff, and 8 silkie young chicks that I am waiting on to see if I have roosters or hens. so total of 12.

I have two children but my house all kids gather so it is not unusual for me to have 4-6 kids at a time, they love the birds. I have 3 dogs (all rescues) and 1 cat (also a rescue). I am about to add a bunny to the flock. I work 8 months a year so I love summer with my kids and animals. I love animals, and love learning about them.
