HI I am new to getting owning chickens we got our first chickens about 3 months ago and are looking to get some more hens. We had 3 roos and gave them to a farm because we are wanting hens we got un-sexed chicks and realized that was not the way to go and are looking for sexed hens. The breed we did have were bantoms and we loved them. I work from home and watch my son full time and want to start raising hens.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. Bantams are a size - small, not a breed. Many of the popular full sized breeds also are available in Bantam size. Bantams eat less, poo less, take up less room but it may takes 3 of their eggs to equal one regular sized egg.

My Pet Chicken sells chicks sexed (for higher prices). That may be the way to go. Welcome to Backyard chickens.
