Hello, and welcome! That's how I got started with chicken's, by taking care of one of my next door neighbors flock of chicken's when they made a trip out of state a few years ago. They had to show me what to do for them, because I had never done it before. I got to keep the egg's. I then decided that I wanted my own.
 
Welcome to BYC, and congratulations on your new house and your new chicken adventure! One piece of advice I can give is to have everything set up and ready to go before buying your birds. So, so true. I didn't. I got the chickens first. Not a good idea.

No, not yet... we’re researching and my son has demanded a “golden chicken” (Buff Orpington) like his Auntie has. The chicken are primarily for him he’ll be 5, and loves chickens soooo much!
