Hi all! I’m a new chicken mom. I have 8 ladies that are about 12 weeks old. I have 2 BO 2 EE 2 GLW 1 BLW and an Australorp. Love them to pieces. Any advise would be great. Thank you!

Thank you! Glad to be here! I did a good amount of research before getting them. I always give age appropriate grit and will for sure give oyster shell when they start laying. I can’t wait for the eggs! I hope all will work out and they will not take a year to lay their eggs.

We are in a period of increasing daylight hours so should not take a year to go into lay. Each breed may go at a different time. Mine went into lay at 28 weeks during the winter. Have fun!​
