I am not a chicken owner but I fell in love with our neighbors chickens from two doors down.
We recently moved to our house a year ago and would randomly see chickens wandering far off in our backyard in the spring. They started coming up to us by fall so we began buying them chicken food. Then they started coming to our door everyday and that led to us naming them.
There are 7 chickens all together. Frida, Ms. Gaines, Mutton, the twins, Blackie, and Betsy. We still haven't met the owners to ask what kind of chickens they are.
Their favorite "candy" seems to be meal worms and sun flower seeds. They like to burrow in our bushes so we scatter the ground with dyatimatious earth.
It's now gotten colder out but on warm days they still wobble over to The Candy House. We love them so much! It's nice to share what we are calling partial custody of the girls.
