You definitely should get some chickens of your own. Then you can eat all the fresh eggs! Of course, maybe quail are more to your liking. They lay well, are very friendly, and while you can’t really free range them, their enclosures don’t take up much room. You can build an aviary with a bench for you, a greenhouse, or a gazebo! The tiny things are fine in the winter, but can also be put in a guinea pig cage if you prefer to not venture into the cold yourself.
