We've decided to start raising chickens, so I'm glad I found this forum. I'm still trying to figure out what we want to do as far as a coop and a run. We live on 3 acres in Vermont and back to a state forest, so I need to create a secure run. We want to begin with 6 chickens...possibly 8. We'd like to let them loose in the yard when we're outside, but I want them to have a large run to keep them safe and happy when we're not outside. I've been looking at www.thegardencoop.com and the plans for The Garden Coop Walk-In Coop and Run....possibly enlarging the run space a little. I want the whole area to be covered because of the winter weather here. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be great to hear from you!

I have a solid roof on my run which is attached to the coop and the entire setup is predator proof and "winterizable"!
