New Here!

So, quick question for anyone who might know. We have neighbors who are close, so we are looking at a more quiet chicken. I’ve tried t to research it, but as far as ISA goes, are they more quiet?
Unfortunately, each bird is unique. It is very difficult to categorize any specific one as quiet. I've had quiet and noisy members of a single breed in my flock. You are just going to have to try it out. Are chickens allowed where you are?

We actually have sheep and goats at the end of the road lol they’re fluffy and cute! But yes, we are! We just moved about 2 months ago and have been researching about chickens for a while. My main concern is finding chickens that will be a good fit for my kids so that they are involved, too. My 10 year old has already decided on names 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Well then, if they are allowed, don't stress out of the natural noise they make. Anyone moving to the area must realize they are in an area where chickens are allowed and can expect the noises associated with them.
I hear Orpingtons are very nice birds with kids so your original selection would be good and they come in more than one color. I have PBRs and they are just fabulous! Very sweet but still high ranking in the flock. My black Australorp is also a doll.
Remember during your research and preparations that these birds will require 4 sq per bird in the coop and 12 - 15 sq ft per bird in the run, a good rule of thumb for the roost is 11-12" per bird and 1 nest box for every 5 birds. You cannot have too much ventilation in your coop. The easiest places to add ventilation are in the gable peaks with good roof overhangs and under the soffits between the rafters. Lots of top hinged windows help too. I highly recommend you build a walk-in coop and run. Sooooo much easier to deal with. And poop boards are a real time and money saver.
