I am new to chickens, just got mine last week. I have 3 Buff Orpington pullets, now 7 weeks old. Before getting them, I researched online, and learned a lot from this site especially. So now that I have my girls, thought I should join.

Question for y'all: I have them in an Eglu Go (see picture) but I recently saw a post on another forum saying that allowing chickens to use the roosting tray before they reach 16 weeks would deform their keel bones. Is that true? I've read a lot elsewhere that nesting on the ground makes them more prone to disease and infestations. I'm not sure if I should leave it or take the tray out for now...
