Thank you!! I will probably post again in a few weeks asking too! When they grow some more. We would like to find a good home for them! There are farms around us that will take them!Hello, and welcome to BYC. At least one and perhaps two of the silkies pictured are cockerels.
Thanks!Hello and welcome to BYCSo happy you have joined our flock.
Thanks!I'd start a new thread and post individual pictures of you birds. That way you can get a for sure head count on how many roos and hens you have.
If the roosters are fighting each other excessively (to the point of blood) someone needs to go (occasional squabbles and feather pulling can be normal). If your hens backs and necks are bare, you need to downsize on the cocks. If he is attacking you, family, or friends he need to go.
Thanks!! Wow I’m so overwhelmed with all the kind welcomes!Hi from the UK ! Welcome to BYC mainly look pullets to me u got one defo silkie cockerel and maybe another x
Hi! Welcome to BYC!Hi I’m new here! We just got chicks this spring for the first time! We were told very conflicting information about our chicks from different store employees and just want to get it all straight! 1. One person told us when we purchased them that they were 1-2 weeks old. We went back the same day to get 4 more and someone else said they were 3-4 weeks old. Based on some Google search images we are guessing they are about 10 weeks now and I want to know what other people think? We also are pretty certain we may have a few roosters in the bunch, and I also was hoping if I posted some pics if someone might be able to tell for me? We have 12 total. Thanks!
