Just got into chickens over a year ago. We have black australorps which are quiet and docile as long as you keep the roosters tied and out of view of each other. The hen love to lay eggs and hardly make a sound. They are the most intelligent of the breeds we have. We also have a couple rhode island red hens which are relatively quiet but not intelligent and can be aggressive towards each other. My fiances father has over 30 native philippine chickens which most are a loud annoying destructive nightmare but are completely free range and kept because of their flavor. Certain groups are more behaved but one group is just 😩 the native chicken roosters can get along but will chase each other of caught trying to breed with the dominant male of the groups hen
