I grew up with a father who raised chickens so I knew a little bit about chickens from my childhood, with that said last spring I finally got my own hen house and 4 of the cutest little chicks! And of course, there was some chicken math involved.
We started with 4 hens and a tiny tractor supply hen house. Then, as I said, chicken math was involved and somehow we ended up with 12 hens and a two-story hen house. We (when I say āweā I actually mean I) plan to add four more hens this year. Right there.
As far as breed we have: We have the two legged egg laying breed. OOPS, Looks like a little bit of my husbandās humor snuck out.
Seriously though, Iām not exactly sure what breeds they are. I just know I call them my fluffy butt girls. I actually do know that I have four Easter egg layers⦠Lol
We have an acre of land that we share with our 9 Furr babies. Yes, you did read that right I did say nine. However, I want to be on record as saying I never intended for the āmathā to come out to that number. We have 7 Frenchies (ranging in age from 1 year to 4 years). The 2 youngest girls are still looking for furrever homes. We also have a 11-year-old great Dane and a nine-year-old pitbull that I rescued from being used as a bait dog.
I found this group when I was looking for designs to make printable labels for egg cartons. Iām actually glad I did because Iām looking forward to learning more about the different types of
laying hens and possibly even
learning more about my current and future fluffy butt girls.
