I am new to here but have been lurking around for a while. My family and I live out in the country and decided it was time to start having some critters running around and we decided on chickens (actually my wifes idea at first). I have taken a lot of info off of this site to make sure that i got started in the right direction, and it has greatly helped so thanks in advance for the info. Here is where i started, i had a large area covered in brush, i cleaned it all out and cut some of the lower limbs.
Second, i drove T-posts in the ground and wrapped fence around them all for the run, it is 30ft x 30ft.
Next i wrapped all of the T-posts with treated lumber because my wife said that it had to look nice, lol, and it helped make the fence a little sturdier. I then took down an old clubhouse that my younger cousin had and relocated it next to the run it is roughly 6ft x 8ft and about 7ft tall at the rafters. Now i am in the process of fixing the clubhouse turned coop as it needs some TLC as you can see below. Then i need to figure out a way to cover it all, not sure if i will have to though since it is covered in trees, i dont think i should have much of a hawk problem, what do you think? I hope to continue to keep learning and just have a good time here, i will keep you posted on my progress.
