Hey ya'all.. My name is Rachel and I am new to BYC. My husband and I just embarked on the chicken journey. I grew up on a small farm with chickens, turkeys and pigs, but this is my first attempt as an adult to be an urban chicken farmer.

So far it has been an interesting journey. My girls (ages 2 and 4) LOVE them and have really helped "tame" our young flock. We have six pullets (at least I am pretty sure they are all pullets so far.) We have one Delaware who is a fun, inquisitive adventurer and by far the biggest lady of them all so far; an Iowa Blue who is a very bossy young lady; two feisty Silver Laced Wyandottes; a very mellow Silver Grey Dorking; and a very talkative Buff Brahma. I love them all so far, but already feel like I have many questions. That's why I'm here!
