i just finished building a coop for my 14 lb brahma and his lover its a well built house but very very dark on the inside will that be ok or do i need to add some way for some very little light and they roosted on the floor will they move to a nest box on their on or do i need to show them the way?

I would add a small window for light. Cover it in hardware cloth then staple clear plastic over it for the winter.

You don't say how big your coop is or if there is a run attached. Do you have ventilation for when the coop is closed up ?

The nest box is for the hen to lay eggs in. You don't want them sleeping in it because they will poop in it and any eggs laid will be soiled.

Put a 2x4 with the flat side up inside the coop for them to roost on. Fourteen pounds is a BIG bird. I bet he and his mate are beautiful. Because of their weight, the roost shouldn't be more than 3' tall. If they jump down from a taller roost they could injure their legs or feet.
