Don't be surprised if you find yourself both wanting more acres, and rueing that 7 acres is hard to maintain w/o heavy equipment. We've 30A, but only manage about 6 - all hand tools. I won't lie, its hard.

What size flock are you considering, and for what purpose(s)?

/edit also, if you go into your profile, you can add a location with as much (or as little) specificity as you are comfortable with. Many answers re: chicken keeping are regional, based on climate and resource availability.

I am in a wooded property so maybe 2.5 acres are field Flock size is going to be 15 max to start all for laying.
