We have been keeping chickens in Central Texas since 2017. Right now we have 13 hens, 2 x barred rock, 2 x Sapphire Olive Eggers, 5 x Easter Eggers, 1 x bantam cochin, 1 x silver sebright, 1 x Belgian D'uccle and of course 1 x Blue/lavender australathorpe.
They are definitely fun to watch and building/upgrading/enlarging the coop and run are a huge time consuming hobby to keep my busy.
Other than chickens, I am a huge gardener. Veggies of all sorts, I tend to leave the flowers to the missus, and I grow all the rest.
Found BYC on reddit and eventually decided to come here to see what else i can learn.
