New in Colorado

Hi all! I am in Elizabeth, Colorado (it's just Southeast of Denver). My husband and I just bought our first house and are super excited to have a house and YARD of our own to improve and do as we please. My dad has 5 acres and a couple dozen chickens and he is very happy with them. I have watched him feed his kitchen scraps to them and collect fresh eggs and thought - what a perfect setup - reduce waste and produce food! So I've been reading all about them and planning to introduce a couple into our backyard.
