Hi all - my husband and I live near Worcester, MA on 6 acres. So far he's only let me get chickens ;) That's ok - we've got our own little chicks - 2 of them and a 3rd on the way, so I keep pretty busy (and that leaves him with most of the chicken duty)

We have 4 RIR and 2 Barred Rocks (we started with 4, grr). One of our RIRs is a roo (even though we were expecting all hens) and we weren't sure what to think about that for a while. Now we're kind of excited and hoping that at least one of our hens will decide to be broody so we can get some more chicks :)

Glad you could join our community! Congratulations on your chicks. Rhode Island Reds and Plymouth Rocks are two very nice breeds that I'm sure you'll enjoy. Sorry to hear that you ended up with a cockerel. I hope you hen goes broody and you can get some more chicks!
