!Birds!
In the Brooder
I don't know what birds are allowed to be kept as pets in Japan. I do know that if you want a friendly cage bird, it totally depends on how much time, patience, and attention you give the bird.
I grew up with parrots, macaws, lovebirds, medium sized parakeets, cockatiels, cockatoos, and finches. The larger birds are higher maintenence, messier, but much more personable for the effort.
My favorite were the medium sized parakeets, not budgies, but more like small parrots. They can live a long time. My mom has one that is around 20 years old. Thing is, they bond with you, and can be really needy for that attention, and act out when they don't get it. They can actually turn on you without consistent lovins.
I have chickens now, and they don't require much special attention, since they are typically kept with at least one buddy, but they aren't always friendly either. It depends on the chicken.
so i'm guessing its okay to get one parakeet? or should I get two?
