Hello! I am looking forward to adding chickens to my home and farm this spring.

I've searched and read and already have received good advice about coops, tractors and starting up.

I am NO GOOD at construction so I've been looking at Chick-N-Barns and other prefab coops but am still undecided.

I have indoor pet finches, aquatic frogs and fish, five lovely pet goats, two dogs, an ancient cat and a lovely Thoroughbred horse.

I'm the type of person that will have chickens more as pets than as farm animals. I will enjoy them if they lay but I can't see myself culling the non-layers.... there will just be plenty of old chickens clucking about my backyard! heh heh

I hope to learn a lot from all of you chicken experts.

Ah - good to hear from a fellow tree hugger and keepers of old chickens!

Since I'm starting from scratch, as they say, this seems to be the best place to be for good advice.
