Hello everyone!! I'm not new to chickens, but still learning every day. I've been raising them for 6 years years now and decided to start after a miscarriage. Interesting reason, right? I guess I needed a distraction and something to nurture. I've been hooked ever since!

I currently have 6 adults, about to acquire 3 more, and 11 babies that just spent their first night outside. My largest flock was around 40.

I currently have golden laced wyandottes, barred rocks, golden comets, buff brahmas, olive eggers, amerucanas, Rhode Island reds, and a Rhode island white. I REALLY want a dark egg layer.

I'm one of the weirdos that loves roosters. I think they're my favorite part. Haha. But I love all of it. Except the smell of the poop. I love how they run to me and the sounds they make. I love to prepare food with the eggs they've given us and feed them wonderful things in return.

I am a mental health counselor and have the privilege to work with all ages from 3-70, which suits me perfectly, because I've never been able to pick my favorite, although I've studied childhood trauma extensively. I have 3 kids, but only 1 in the house. He's 5 and on the spectrum but very high functioning and very funny. 2 German Shepherds that are AMAZING.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to getting to know you!
