New Indiana Momma with Questions!!

Awesome setup! Try coaxing them out with some hard boiled egg

The cream beaked one you mentioned seems to just want to explore. I would close the bathroom door, remove any extra things from the floor (Such as plants or things that you don't want chick poop on

), and just let her walk around while you supervise. From my experience, they don't go far before missing their friends, so you could try it out and if she gets to far away you can just put her back.
Chicks seem to prefer to be picked up by a hand that approaches them from their level, rather than being chased by something from above, so if you're having difficulty picking them up, try scooping them up from their level.
Also, if she likes perching on you, try adding a stick, it can just be something that you find in your yard, as a perch. That should keep them busy and active, as well as teaching them to perch on things.
Glad it worked out, it's fun helping people with tiny little adorable chicks! (More pictures would be appreciated

Most importantly, have fun!

Hello, and welcome to the forum! I am fixing to celebrate my first year on here, and I have loved it so much, I hope you will too! There is tons of great info and friendly folks, so pull up a chair and make yourself at home! :frow

Tonight went much better!! I got my cream beaked girl out after she has continued to rush and jump at my hand or the top every time I was in there and she immediately ran up my arm to perch on my shoulder. I sat on the floor giving her some love and she was content to just sit with me. Then I was able to clean their tote with less insanity! Looks like I will be setting aside more time so she can get cuddles :)

I also got some of the younger girls to take feed from my hand. Tomorrow I am going to make some hard boiled eggs to try. I am also going to cardboard the dog crate so we can move the RIR out to the garage this week. I hate that it is back to snowing here but I'm feeling better about what we are doing. I appreciate the help and support I am finding here!

Nice!!! It sounds like your flock is going to be very happy and snuggly! Have fun! (I'm not looking forward to the cold weather either- even with full grown birds :/)

The RIR are in one large dog crate with cardboard about 10 inches up and next to them are the other little girls with cardboard. But I did leave a section in the middle where they can see and poke at one another. Everyone seems to be happy so far. They were getting noisey in the tubs and I couldn't figure out why, so fingers crossed this helps!!
