I'm not totally new - but I haven't been real active either. Maybe there is a better category for this post, and if so please let me know and I'll move it. I started off several months ago with my coop and 6 chickens (well - 5 chickens and a female impersonator who was banished!). Due to the sad loss of a hen last week I'm now down to 4 but hope to add another one soon!

Anyway - I've enjoyed my peafowl, guineas, turkeys, and chickens so much I decided to build an aviary to add a different type of feathered friend to the property. So far I have a Red Golden male and a Lady Amherst male, along with my wife's Frizzle who was not treated well by the other hens when we tried to add her to the coop. I plan on adding finches, budgies, cockatiels, fancy pigeons, and ???? It's a pretty good sized space and I think I've got the room for quite a few birds, if I keep them small. The structure is 13' tall, 140 square feet, and 1371 cubic feet - bring on the birds!
