I have been on this site for awhile but haven't been reading or posting in a long time...way long time! I am trying to get back on board and use the resources that are out there to help, and maybe someday I can help someone else too!
I have had hens for 3 or 4 years now. I started out with Speckled Sussex and Buff Orpingtons. Since the original batch, I divorced and lost my home, sadly. So, I rent a farm house now and decided since I will be here for awhile, I am expanding my flock.
Currenty I have about 20 or so hens running free range, still have one of my Sussex and I have decided Orpingtons are just the most awesome all around...so will hopefully get more of them soon. I have a few miscellaneous breeds, silver and gold wyandottes, barred rock, lots of Rhode Island Reds and a pair of Americauna's (Vivianne and Merlin). And my favorite that are pets - Polish! I have a silver "Mani" and a white crested black "Czyna" - had a roo named Pachneic but sadly lost him this winter...he was my baby.
I have a pair of turkeys, Tom and Spring (she is setting eggs right now...would be my first hatching!!!)
I have 6 new ducks, 2 Pekin, 2 Cayuga and 2 Swedish.
And I raise heritage rabbits, Silver Fox and American Chinchilla.
