Hello, I am Ann from CT. A list of my birds are in my siggy.
We started out with the Comet hens last year and I was immediately smitten. I had no idea chickens had such personality! And smarts!
Then at the fair, I discovered a breed, like my horses, named for the area of origin in Spain. I went on a search, and decided to buy from McMurrays. I bought the Andalusians, and a variety of others that looked nice (and that were available at them time). We raised them this summer and gave/sold off half of them.
We used to have Guineas last year too, but the neighbors complained about them and we had to get rid of them. They were free range, as our chickens are. So far, though, the chickens stay in our yard, so no complaints from fussy neighbors.
I have enjoyed reading all the topics. There is a wealth of info here, to say the least. I am so happy to find the forum.

Is there a place where I can learn to post pictures? I wanted to put a pic of my parrots on the parrot thread, but it didn't seem to work for me.

Hi, Barn Maid Ann, and welcome! You'll find lots of genuinely caring, helpful people on this site who give generously of their time and experience to help others. You may also find a crackpot or two, but that's life...

As for pictures, there is a tutorial in the FAQ section and in the beginner's section; it may help with your pic posting issues. I JUST learned how to do pix a week or so ago.

Thank you all for the welcome. I have more reading still, to do. This is a huge, active board! I have a couple of books, but there is as much or more info here.
I have checked out the picture posting instructions. May take me a while to get it. I am somewhat computer challenged.

This is a great place! Always very informative and entertaining!

Don't feel bad about being computer challenged, I am too. I cannot figure out how to e-mail interesting posts or links from here to my husband-I think I will have to have him show me how. He would get a big kick out of some of them.

Anyway, Welcome to BYC!
