I had 3 keet hatch yesterday. 2 are fine. The third I found out of the nesting box(they were hatched by one of my broody hens) on the floor of the coop. The box is floor level so there wasn't a fall but I'm not sure how he got there or for how long he lay there. I immediately placed him back under the hen to warm him. I brought all of them in late last night to the brooder box for fear the same thing may happen again. The two move around fine with normal orange feet. The third hobbles with prompting and his feet appear swollen and are dark purple over a lot of his feet. He is otherwise behaving normally. He will drink and eat and interact. I suspect that when he somehow got knocked out of the nesting box, the other chickens or even a guinea picked at him and injured his feet. Has anyone else had this experience? Could it be something else? What should I do? Just wait to see if they heal on their own? Help?
