Hello everyone! My name is Tatiana and I am new here. Well actually the threads on this sight have been so helpful to me for so long I figured I better join.
I have had 2 separate flocks chickens. A little over a year apart. The first group of 16 was tragically killed by skunks and then a terrible fire that burned my coop to the ground. It crushed my world. It took took me a long time to heal.
My Dad and I build a new custom coop and now I have 27 chickens. I have 6 different breeds (buff orph, golden sex link, brown Danish, white crest black polish, Barr rock, americauna, Rhode island red). Honestly I love just about everything about chickens. I love caring for them. They are like my feathered children. It is a hobby that is very relaxing to me.
A little about my life... my life is my children. I have 4 kids ranging in age from 7 to 16. I have 2 boys and 2 girls. I have been a stay at home mom for their whole lives. I am married to a goofball named Aaron. I know that is what makes our marriage fun. He is just a big kid and makes me laugh all the time.
4 years ago we moved our kids from the city life to the mountains. It was the best decision we have ever made.We live near the Tahoe National forest in Northern California. The simple life is the best life for our kids. The only thing that could make our little town better is if it wasn't in CA.
I look forward to getting to know many chicken loving people on here. I can't wait to take in the vast amounts of knowledge all of you have to offer
