I have been like a phantom and a little shy about posting since I became a member of BYC. Back in April of this year when I made the decision to start my flock a friend of mine said I should check out this site. Best advice I got in a long time.
I did a lot of reading and research hear before I started anything because I wanted to do it correctly and a good Stuart of my future chickens.
So here I am!
First off I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful information, pictures, and experiences you have shared:)
I purchased 7 hens: 3 buffs, 2 leghorns , 2 black austrolops. I picked them up in conn. about an hour from my house in Ma. I have had them for 6 weeks and have been busy building their coop and run. They are all healthy so far, thanks to your advice, and they are loving their new digs!
My wife was a little negative about the idea at first, but now has admitted to getting very attached to the girls.
Have to go for now, but I promise I will not be shy in the future and work at being a contributing member. I believe in giving back. I wlill post some pictures soon!
