I called a friend who has Silkies to ask about eggs to hatch. He said he was trying to pare down just a little and GAVE us 1 white silkie hen and 2 silkie roo's. AND...he has a pen full of mottled banty cochins and gave us 1 hen and 2 roo's from that pen as well. PLUS...he had a white feather-footed hen (he doesn't know the breed) that was too timid and he wanted to re-home her. We have a pen of assorted pullets about 12 weeks old and we put her in with them...instant love!! She's showing them how to dig a hole and burrow. We worked our tails off yesterday building 2 more pens for the new kids and finished just before dark. Everyone's happy!
