Hello everone, new flock!
We have redone our 10x12 coop and 880 sqft run as well inside and out. The wife and I decided back in late Feb. to start a new flock so we got on Cackle and around late March we finally decided on what we wanted. So, here's the starting line up:
3 splash laced red Wyandottes
4 black laced golden Wyandottes
4 black laced silver Wyandottes
3 Barred Rocks
3 Buff Orpingtons
3 Cinnamon Queens
3 Rhode Island Reds
and a Welsummer roo
Much to our suprise, they sent 5 extra,
2 Rhode Island Reds
1 splash laced red Wyandotte
and an extra Welsummer, I think.
The Welsummer chicks and the Buff Orpington chicks look the same, So, here we are, with 29 new babies, who are a week old now.
The chicks brooder is 3 of the very large storage totes spliced together then i cut the lids out and mated them with hardware cloth. It contains 2 mirrors, a homemade perch a dust bath, 2 waterers, 1 with apple cider vinegar, 1 without and a feeder on a bed of pine shavings.
We hope you all come along with us on this new journey and enjoy our little story.
Any observations or suggestions are always welcome. Thanks for looking!
