Hi everyone! I'm currently selling up my city house to go bush and plan to start my farm by purchasing some light Sussex birds. I'm in Australia can't wait to start my clucking family. I have two small boys so picked this breed as they tend to be quite docile.

Well g'day to you and welcome to Back Yard Chickens. If you want to check on your mates head for "Australia- six states and one funny little island," or "Australians where are
you?" they also hang out at the Emu threads.

Thanks! I haven't quite figured out how to post yet so I will head there to find some friendly faces!

Hi hatched2, welcome. I love the Sussex birds. There are many different colours. I was considering getting some, but ended up getting Orpingtons. They are also very docile and good layers.

Welcome to BYC
