In Lansing we can only have 5 hens......that's it. I think all will fit in the EGLU but have the larger coup being made with a run. It was my niece who wanted the EGLU..

Welcome from a fellow Michigander (greater Grand Rapids area).

I'm new at this too; my chickens are five months old now and I've been getting eggs for about 3 weeks. It is sooo worth the wait. I have a happy grin on my face when I find an egg in the nest.

Do you have breeds picked out? I'll put in a plug for my favorite, Black Australorp.

So much good info on this site, and everyone is patient and helpful.
