I have a bunch of new layers, and have saved tons of eggs for incubating. But have had horrible hatch rates. %98 have development but are dying some where along the line. Is this because they are new layers? At what point will hatch rates get better for new layers.

you should not incubate at least the first 30 eggs of each hen.

I had the same problem although the eggs were from older hens, geese and ducks. the incubator where I hatched geese and duck's eggs was good. a year earlier hatch rate was really good. I hope someone more experienced will tell us.

Thank you! I was about to loose my mind. I incubated all last year and had great rates. I thought I had lost it.
