New layer question

I have a 20 week old barred rock that layed 2 small hard shelled eggs on Friday and Saturday. Since then she has dropped a soft egg with no shell from the roost while sleeping. Is this normal for a new layer while working things out. I feed Purina layer with oyster shell. I went out and bought some additional oyster shell yesterday and started giving them that.

Yes, it is very normal for new layers until they work their kinks out. Continue to provide oyster shell and a fortified chicken feed. Limit treats.

Yeppers, pretty normal. Soft shells can emerge at odd times.
Can take up to a month for things to smooth out.

Any other 'foods/treats' being given regularly?

They also get some cracked corn and meal worms once a day.
