New Layer

I come from a family of dairy farmers and we've always had chickens. Finally got my own personal flock a few years ago when I became a homeowner.
I love bantam chickens and my flock is a Cochin/Easter Egger mix, with a wee bit of Sebright thrown in. Right now there's 14 hens, which is about 5 too many, but how do I sell them when I've already named them all?
I love watching chickens. I don't love watching for hawks watching my chickens.
I love gardening. I don't love fixing the mess the chickens make of my garden.
And yet I still let the little buggers out to roam around when I can. How do I say no to their cute little beady eyes and demanding personalities?
I've lurked around BYC for a long while because it's such a great source of chickeninfo.
My chicken dreams involve lots of colorful birds that lay lots of colorful eggs.
Welcome into BYC!!

Welcome back! I would love, love to see pictures of your flock.

Here's most of the girls, minus the two who've decided to get broody already.
The red one beneath the crossed branches on the upper left has had me guessing for months but I'm pretty sure I'm seeing hackle feathers on it now (hatched mid-November). The rest are all hens. Even Snowy there on the right with her beard and fierce look. :D

Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies! I always check in the "What's New" section as well at the top of this page. This way I can read how I may have a similar question or help give some advice.
