Hi All!
A few weeks ago I lost two of my chickens to the neighbor's dog. I was able to replace my light Brahma with a new light Brahma of the same age. I'm slowly introducing her to my flock, but I've noticed that she seems to have an issue with plucking her own feathers and eating them. I'm wondering if this is a nutritional deficiency, or is she just nervous?

Can you post pictures?

I would up her protein intake and check her for external parasites. It might be stress, but that’s highly unlikely.
Starting to think maybe just bad feed. She's looking pretty good now after 3 days.

I have a light brahma who plucks her chest feathers out every summer. I can't find a reason-- she is not broody, she does not have parasites, and she only does it in the summer.

I've been feeding her dinner leftovers (chicken, cheeseburgers, vegetables) and looking so much better. My 2 bantams have been hanging out with her too, so starting to mix in nicely 😁
