So I’m getting a juvenile male black Spanish turkey, and I’m just wondering if he will do fine with my 4 girls (5 month old buff Orpingtons). I know about the possibility of him contracting blackhead, but I heard it’s just a risk you have to take. Just wondering if the hens will bully him or not, because I don’t want that to happen, or will it be the other way around? Thanks in advance, no rude comments please.

I generally recommend keeping turkeys and chickens separately. If your plans are to keep a solitary Tom turkey than he may at some point try to mate your chickens. Either way the species aren't always compatible, and best kept in separate housing.

Unless you are getting the turkey to process, I would not have a lone tom turkey with chickens. Turkeys are social birds and should be kept with other turkeys. Chickens will not meet their social needs.

A lone tom raised with chickens will try to breed your chickens when breeding season comes around and you will not like the results.

Okay well I can’t get them now anyways since I’m not able to setup another cage. Thanks though.
