I was away for the weekend and had arranged to meet up with a guy who is downsizing his Mandy flock. I bought 1 adult pair (each '09 hatch) and 4 babies who are about 6-7 weeks old now. I have no idea if they are males or females, but they are cuties! I'll post more pics soon, they are so skittish! I already had 2 pairs, so they have to all get to know each other and settle down. But I am so excited to have a new bloodline out there, and the hope of having new babies is greater now. I also found 10 eggs from one of my original females in one of the nestboxes. Yay!

well, I just went out and checked on them all- they all look good and pretty calm. I was worried about them during the night and hoping they'd all get along and be ok. whew!

I love that little face poking out down the bottom on the last photo.

They are so beautifully coloured. Glad to hear their first night went well. I few weeks ago I introduced some farm raised ducks to my hand raised flock- It sure was a shock to have some that wouldnt come and eat out of my hands- BUt they have all settled in well now and are venturing closer by the day. Great news on those eggs - looks like you will be having even more soon too!!

Awesome!!!!!! Congrats on your new additions, they all look healthy and alert ! Love Mandies...... want to get a white female and a normal male..... maybe one day

my ducky guys has some mandies and his hen is sitting on eggs..........so hopefully in a few weeks I'll have a pair of baby manies too....I so can't wait. I just love ducks.

I've been bit by the ducky addiction........... i'm hoping in a year or so to add a goose

oh I do love them best of all mine right now! I do want to get a pair (or 2!) of Woodies to put in there too. I got to hold an "hours old" baby Mandy of the guy's that I got these from. He had eggs abandoned a week ago and thought the nest was lost (and didn't really want any more Mandies anyways) but what to his wondering eyes should appear yesterday morning? 2 babies who hopped out of the nest box all on their own...and proceeded to wander, hop, climb all over the big pen...probably saying "Are you my mother? Are you my mother?" to all of the adult hens in there. He let me hold one when he took them out, he was afraid the adults would trample the wee ones... I'll have to find out if he had any others hatch after I left. Its amazing he had any hatch, because she didn't go back to the nest (that he saw) for the last 7 days. Holy Moly!
I'm working tomorrow too- so will have to wait to get any new close up pics til at least Wednesday...hope the sun is shining then so they photograph well.

I'm going to start a new thread regarding the sex of my 4 new baby Mandarins... (they are about 7 weeks old so I'm not sure if they are still babies or teens now...

if anyone knows what they are by looks now, please chime in? I'll add new pics weekly until we can tell what they are.
Thanks. For now- here are a few group pics of the adults together.
