Definitely keep the Silkie hen separate from the Quail, different feed requirements, different roosting requirements and chickens can carry disease that show no symptoms that kill quail.

Ah ok thanks for the tip before it's too late! Can I keep multiple silkies with quail or do the two species need to be separate?

Keep them separate. Chickens can give deadly diseases to quail. But if you want the most cuddly chicken ever then I can recommend silkies

Would recommend you only have silkies as they get bullied. Now my silkies don’t have crests due to pecking.
