Welcome from eastern NC!(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is my first year raising chickens. I received my first flock of 6 in April 2023 and recently acquired 8 more August 2023.

Smokey Pearls,Isa Browns, Wyandottes Columbians and Silver Laced, Olive Eggers, Cream Legbars, Brahmah, and Black Sex Link
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Learning about a new animal,watching them forage and discover new things and egg collecting.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Yarn work, baking, and reading
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am learning about homesteading and about becoming more self-sufficient. I have a few other pets including, dogs, a cat, and an axolotl.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I remember scrolling the site when I was researching chicken breeds but an employee at my co-op told me about membership for quick answers to chicken health questions.
