Welcome!
I assume you are in California since there was a Newcastle quarantine.

1000 doses is the smallest quantity available. It doesn't store long. It is cheap though so most people vaccinate the few birds they have and dispose of the rest.
I have never vaccinated for anything
Be careful of overcrowding. I can't imagine a playhouse coop to be large enough for very many birds. Chickens grow very fast.
How many and how old are the birds you have now? How many eggs are you going to be setting and when? What are the interior dimensions LxW of your coop?

Hello, MaryAlice, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I've never seen Marek's vaccine offered in less than 1000 dose vials. I've ordered 2 batches of chickens from a hatchery that were vaccinated against Marek's but all the new additions have been hatched out of my flock. I just try to minimize wild birds getting into their space too much by no longer feeding wild birds (which I do miss!) and I don't allow people who own chickens to come into my flocks territory.
thank you the hints on ways to reduce exposure is appreciated. so much to learn and this place so valuable. thanks Mary
