Welcome, Kimberley! I'm also about to get my first flock. I rented a pair of hens over the summer and decided to take the plunge. My coop and run are ready to go, and I pick up four hens (about 8 weeks old), in mid October. I considered waiting until spring but being unemployed right now means time on my hands. Looking forward to following your adventures!
