I will still ask around here in Belgium and see if it's common to do this. I will also try to get some pics later today.

I've just posted a separate intro message. Should have done that yesterday but was just thinking about the poor chicks and their wings

They seem healthy and happy now at 2 weeks old. For a while I was worried they were weaker but they are about 5 days younger than the others so I think that was all. They seem to be thriving now.
One question... in a new flock like this when would you expect to start seeing who the boss lady is? Just curious about their group dynamics.

(P.S. 'wing pinioning' is something you do with ducklings, too. It prevents them from flying. If they are only a few days old, then it shouldn't hurt them!)
