I learned about your page on FB, have followed for a while and signed up today.
My husband and I have had 4 Barred Rock hens for just over a year. We love them! The ladies have personality to the extreme. We also have 2 Dachshunds and a cat children.
We have a new raised bed garden that takes up most of the back yard outside the chicken run. We also have fruit trees, grapes, blueberries and strawberries. It is our little city farm and oasis.
For the first time we ran into an issues with one of our ladies. She didn't want to come out one day and was not droopy but seemed anxious and squawked when we touched her like she was in pain. I thought she may be egg bound because her legs and wings were fine. We gave her a warm bath with a bit of Epsom salts that morning and evening. We are fairly certain she laid a normal egg and then later the one in the photo. She is up and around now, eating and being social. Can you please help me understand what was going on inside her for this to happen? Thanks very much!
