Hello, name is simply Val. Thank you in advance for saying howdy. We have a small new flock that we free range and have a nice coop set up for the girls. One of the girls turned out to be a roo of course. We are having what I believe is a health issue that I've never experience with 2 previous flocks. If someone can direct me to where I need to go in the forums I would greatly appreciate it and I do have pictures that I've take today of blackening combs and one poopy butt. Not frostbite as it's summer here in the south. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are in a rural are however I would hate to infect another flock in the area or people. We have very poor internet and I'm not adept at getting around sites. Hello again to all members and bear with me while I try to wade through things.

To get to the forums, go to the home page and scroll down to the bottom. There is a button that says forum at the bottom. So that the disease doesnt pass to the rest of the flock, keep them in a dufferent area than the rest. Allow the healthy chickens to drink first, then feed the sick ones. Clean the drinkers and the feeders before returning them to the healthy ducks pen, too. Wear different shoes so that the sick chickens poop doesnt transfer to the healthy chickens pen. Hope this helps!!!!!!

Thank you TwoCrows, I'll try and go to that link.

Poopy butt might or might not be vent gleet. A photo and a list of symptoms of the affected chickens would help.
Good Luck
