Hello,
My name is amy and I live in New Zealand but grew up in Canada. I got my first chickens about a year ago. They were ex-battery and in pretty rough shape. THey spruced up in no time and I got 3 more. Now I have those 6 laying hens, 2 black and white pekin bantams, 3 lavender araucanas one of which has hatched a medly of babies.
I'm so excited to have little chicks - one was really weak from being cold (mama decided it was time to leave the nest just after one hatched so was wet, cold and hardly responding). That's when I went online and found the most helpful post on this website and I think little "Lucky" will pull through!!!
I have 2 black labs (Max and Zoe) who are really good with the chickens wandering around. And also two lop eared rabbits.
I love learning about chickens!! This site is fantastic.
